Delve into the majestic world of Pandora and discover the incredible wealth of creativity that led this story to become the highest-grossing film of all time and the winner of three Academy Awards。

The World of Avatar celebrates, explores and explains the spectacular world of Pandora--its extraordinary geology, flora and fauna, and the customs and beliefs of its people, the mysterious Na'vi。 The book uniquely covers key content from all aspects of the burgeoning franchise。 It combines original movie stills and artwork with stunning imagery from Cirque du Soleil's Avatar-inspired show Toruk: The First Flight; Disney World's Pandora--The World of Avatar; and the Dark Horse comic book series Tsu'tey's Path

Concluding with a preview of a new Avatar era, this rich, in-world guide will fuel excitement for the long-awaited release of Avatar 2 in December 2022。

Avatar is a film many people – including myself – have on their favourites list。 I hoped that this DK volume would be an in-depth guide the first book wasn't, but although it has much better illustrations, it doesn`t have any of the initial concept drawings or design plans artists and designers buy such books for。It merely provides a series of stills from the movie and a listing of flora, fauna, hardware, characters and planet environments without any information on the actual process of arrivin Avatar is a film many people – including myself – have on their favourites list。 I hoped that this DK volume would be an in-depth guide the first book wasn't, but although it has much better illustrations, it doesn`t have any of the initial concept drawings or design plans artists and designers buy such books for。It merely provides a series of stills from the movie and a listing of flora, fauna, hardware, characters and planet environments without any information on the actual process of arriving at their end design。 It has a nice enough layout with box-out information texts, but all relating to the finished item within the context of the story – nothing about it's creation。As it is, it's a decent enough reference guide for adults and children, but anyone curious about the how and why of the cinematic production process will find it lacking。 I am a little disappointed in it。 。。。more

The book is okay, however for being a "Visual Exploration", there is no where near enough visuals。 The text information isn't too in depth, but it was nice to get a few extra details such as the names of other Na'vi clans, flora and fauna that we haven't been able to see much of or at all。 With that being said, I expected the text to be as brief as it is, but to also then be accompanied by a lot more photos。 It is limited to one of each thing, maybe two if it is about avatars and their human cou The book is okay, however for being a "Visual Exploration", there is no where near enough visuals。 The text information isn't too in depth, but it was nice to get a few extra details such as the names of other Na'vi clans, flora and fauna that we haven't been able to see much of or at all。 With that being said, I expected the text to be as brief as it is, but to also then be accompanied by a lot more photos。 It is limited to one of each thing, maybe two if it is about avatars and their human counterparts。 However, most of the photos are edited stills from the film, some are really not that great a quality。 Overall, its fine but I really expected a lot more from this book。 。。。more
